Course Description

The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 2) graduates will have the language skills and knowledge required to communicate in straightforward and familiar situations with emerging independence and fluency, in order to participate in daily life or in further education.

The course is equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference low B1 to mid B1. Graduates are expected to complete the course with an English level equivalent to IELTS 4.5.

The course is composed of four components: listening, reading, speaking, and writing; totaling 60 credits.

Entry Requirements

Applicants may be admitted to this program

 

  • Provided that they are 14 years of age or older; and
  • Upon completing the English Internal Entry Test, demonstrating suitability for enrolment for the programme (must be at CEFR Level A2 or equivalent); or
  • Upon successful completion of the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 1) programme.

Course Details

  • 16 weeks (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM.)

Majority of the lessons are delivered in a classroom and incorporate a wide range of activities such as role plays, educational outings, individual, pair – work and group work, discussion, games, project-based learning, task-based learning, and media-based learning.
