A foundation course for students beginning their English language journey.
The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) Foundation programme covers basic speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. Upon completing this programme, students will be able to communicate with support in everyday situations, e.g., shopping at the supermarket or ordering food in a restaurant. The outcomes of the course are equivalent to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) A1.
The lessons of this programme are delivered in the classroom and include a variety of interesting activities such as practical tasks, class outings, group games, and partnered activities.
Students will have one week of holiday every sixth week, and are also expected to complete 10 hours of homework and independent studies in each study week.
