Graduates of the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 2) will have the language skills and knowledge required to communicate in straightforward and familiar situations with emerging independence and fluency, in order to participate in daily life or in further education.
The course is equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference low B1 to mid B1. Graduates are expected to complete the course with an English level equivalent to IELTS 4.5.
The course is composed of four components — listening, reading, speaking, and writing — totalling 60 credits.
Most lessons are delivered in a classroom and incorporate a wide range of activities such as role plays, educational outings, individual, pair and group work, discussion, games, project-based learning, task-based learning, and media-based learning.
