Aim

The course aims to provide high level computer support knowledge and skills, with a specialisation in computer networking, to industry recognized standards. Students will learn a blend of specific skills and theoratical knowledge

Content

The first year is based on National Diploma in Computing (Level 5) [Ref: 0302]. The second year is devoted to industry and professional specific instruction including industry standard testing (CompTIA, Microsoft certification).

Entry Requirements

  • Students must be 18 years & over.
  • International students who do not have English as a first language must have an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 or TOEFL 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE) or equivalent.

Students wishing to enter level 7 directly must show ONE of:

  • Hold a National Diploma in Computing (level 5)
  • COMPTIA Certification (A+, Network+) certification
  • Microsoft certification (Desktop fundamentals, 70-687 OR 70-688 OR 70-697)
  • Previous educational experience at Level 7 in computer-related industry.

Course Structure

To be awarded Diploma in Computer Systems Support (Advanced) Level 7 students must be credited with a minimum of 120 credits.

  • Administer WAN environment
  • Administer LAN environment
  • Disaster Recovery of Networks
